Chinese Language & Culture in CDA

The University of Idaho currently has two full-time faculty providing Mandarin language and culture classes to the Coeur d’Alene area. In addition, starting in January of 2019 they will partner with community organizations in Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls to provide more opportunities for youth to learn about Chinese Language and Culture.

North Idaho College hopes to offer Free summer classes

"North Idaho College wants to offer free summer courses, but the Idaho Legislature has to agree to fund them first.

The Summer Completion Initiative, if included in the Legislature’s final budget, would offer Idaho residents one or two courses at NIC, tuition-free, during the summer of 2017 in hopes of helping raise the number of students who enroll in college or technical school within 12 months after graduating high school.

NIC has asked lawmakers to include the $594,900 project in the state budget for fiscal year 2018." ...

FREE Soft Skills Training offered by North Idaho College, in partnership with Idaho Dept of Labor

FREE Soft Skills Training at North Idaho College ...

NIC, in partnership with Idaho Department of Labor, is offering FREE Soft Skills Training to serve youth, the unemployed, and incumbent workers. The curriculum, the Workplace Excellence Series, consists of ten, flexible modules designed to help people understand and deliver what employers demand today. Each module teaches the employer’s perspective, practical skills, and the “bottom line” on a key topic so participants can increase their company and career success. The modules can be used as stand-alone topics or a series.

Hello Community partners!

We’re excited to invite you to partner with us to bring ReadyRosie to the Coeur d’Alene & Hayden communities! As a reminder on August 17th from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. @ the Community Library Network at Hayden (8385 N Government Way, Hayden Lake, ID 83835) we will be meeting with other area daycares, educators, organizations, and citizens excited about early childhood education to learn more about the program, understand the research behind it, and work together to develop an implementation plan for the Coeur d’Alene & Hayden communities to “get the word out.”

To remind you about what ReadyRosie is . . . This parent engagement tool reaches parents directly through their cell phones / other technology. Based on Early Childhood standards, ReadyRosie focuses on building reading and numeracy skills for children starting at birth! Check out the demo at
