Post Falls Chamber Super Scholarship Raffle

We are well into our third year of the Super Scholarship Raffle program and are so grateful to the continued support of our Premier Sponsor, Greene Idaho Foundation, and our other underwriting sponsors.

Our 2016 Scholarship winner was Cody Jahns, who is attending NIC and just earned his CNA with the intention of transferring to Lewis Clark State College to continue his degree in nursing.

The 2017 Scholarship winner was Justin Lyon, who is attending the University of Idaho working towards his degree in medicine.

Who will be next? Only 1,000 $50 tickets will be sold for a chance to win a $25,000 college scholarship that can be used at University of Idaho. Lewis Clark State College, North Idaho College or a combination of the three schools.

SCHOOL BOARDS CONSIDER REDRAWING BOUNDARY

Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene School District board members heard public input on a possible boundary realignment at a joint school board meeting here Monday. The special meeting gave community members the chance to speak to the idea, which the two district superintendents have discussed as a possible solution to a recurring problem. Over the past five years, the State Board of Education has heard seven different appeals by residents in the Lakeland, Coeur d’Alene, and Post Falls School Districts regarding which school districts their kids would attend, said Coeur d’Alene School District Interim Superintendent Stan Olson.

Collision Program "Scrimmage"

Fender bender?

No problem. The next generation of the collision repair workforce will smooth it over for you.

"This is probably my favorite class I've ever had in school," said Coleton Kazmierczak, a Kootenai Technical Education Campus and Post Falls High School senior.

Coleton, an auto body collision repair student, showcased his refinishing finesse Friday during the Friendly SkillsUSA Scrimmage in the North Idaho College Parker Technical Education Center in Rathdrum.

"The competition is going pretty good," he said. "This whole week we’ve been reviewing."

He held up a bumper cover he worked on during one of the timed segments.

KROC CENTER TO AWARD 10 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Coeur d’Alene will award $10,000 in scholarships to worthy students this spring.

The Dr. Riggs Leadership Scholarship was created in 2013 by The Salvation Army Kroc Center Executive Staff and Advisory Board to honor Jack T. Riggs, M.D., for a lifetime of leadership excellence and to acknowledge and reward a high school senior for exhibiting leadership traits and capabilities.
